ABSTRACT
 |
Physical activity has extensive and well-documented neuroprotective effects, benefitting cognitive function during healthy aging and reducing the risk of Alzheimer's Disease (AD). However, the mechanisms responsible for these benefits remain largely unknown. Recent advances have contributed to the identification of the circulating signals that underlie the Central Nervous System (CNS)-targeting the benefits of exercise, a major advance for identifying novel mechanisms of cognitive function.
